Description
Step into the shoes of a real railroad engineer during this exclusive *Locomotive Cab Ride* aboard the Saratoga Corinth & Hudson Railway. Ride inside the cab of historic *Alco 5*, a classic American diesel locomotive built in Schenectady, NY — just miles from where you’ll be sitting. Feel the hum of the engine beneath your feet and the vibration of steel wheels on track as you witness how throttle, brakes, and radio signals all come together to move a full train. Your engineer host shares insider stories about the locomotive’s restoration, railroad history, and what it takes to keep trains rolling today. Riders receive a pre-departure safety briefing and are required to wear provided protective gear. This is the ultimate “bucket list” experience for railfans, history lovers, and anyone who’s ever dreamed of calling “All aboard!” from the front of the train.
Itinerary
• Check in 30 minutes before your scheduled departure at the Corinth Depot • Receive a short safety and job briefing with your engineer host • Ride in the cab of the Alco 5 locomotive during a 1.5-hour scenic journey • Hear stories and Q&A about train handling, history, and rail operations • Return to Corinth with a new appreciation for America’s rail heritage.

$200 per person (single seat per journey). Optional additional cab rider (adult or youth) $50. Limited availability; advance booking required.
