At Train Ride Tours, we understand that plans can change — sometimes unexpectedly. Our goal is to make booking (and rebooking) as easy and transparent as possible. This policy explains how cancellations, reschedules, and refunds are handled when reserving train experiences through our website or with one of our travel agents.
Standard Train & Tour Bookings
Most experiences listed on our website are operated by independent, licensed railway partners. When you book, you are reserving directly with the operator, and their individual cancellation and refund policies apply. You’ll always see the specific terms at checkout and in your confirmation email.
Cancellation Windows
Most train rides allow free cancellation within 24–72 hours of your scheduled departure. Some special events, holiday trains, or private charters may require longer notice.
Refunds
Refunds are processed directly by the operator and typically return to your original payment method within 5–10 business days, depending on your financial institution.
Weather & Operational Delays
If your ride is canceled due to unsafe weather, equipment issues, or unforeseen circumstances, your operator will offer to reschedule your ticket or issue a refund in accordance with their policy.
No-Shows
Guests who miss their scheduled departure without prior notice are generally not eligible for refunds.
Packages & Custom Itineraries
For multi-day trips or customized packages (including bundled rail tours, lodging, or additional excursions), the following policies apply unless otherwise stated:
Standard Cancellation: Cancel or reschedule up to 72 hours before the first activity for a full refund.
Private or Group Charters: Require 96 hours’ notice to cancel or modify without penalty.
Refund Processing: Eligible refunds will be issued to your original payment method after verification with our travel team.
Trip Insurance Recommended
We highly recommend adding travel protection at checkout to safeguard your trip against last-minute changes, illness, or weather disruptions outside of policy windows.
How to Cancel or Reschedule
Direct Bookings:
Check your confirmation email from the operator. It includes a link or phone number to modify or cancel your reservation directly.
Packages or Custom Trips:

with your booking reference number.
Important Notes
Each vendor sets their own cancellation policy — always review your tour details carefully before checkout.
Refund eligibility and timing are determined by the operator’s terms.
Multi-day or bundled trips may have separate policies for included hotels, trains, or activities.
Refunds cannot be guaranteed for services booked through third-party websites or discount resellers.
